Consultations

Our consultations in Paris

Eleven consultation types, organised by specialty, to guide you to the right appointment. Each consultation is led by the relevant specialist.

Cardiology

3 consultations

Routine cardiology follow-up, from a standard check to exploring your heart rhythm.

Cardiology consultation

A complete clinical assessment to take stock of your heart, your history and your risk factors.

Learn more

The cardiology consultation assesses your cardiovascular health as a whole, whether for a prevention check-up, the follow-up of a known condition, or adjusting a treatment. It includes a detailed history, a full clinical examination and, as needed, carrying out or prescribing further tests (ECG, echocardiogram, blood work…). Prevention is central: anticipating matters, so we screen for cardiovascular risk factors (high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, smoking, excess weight, inactivity, family history) and for cardiovascular disease at an early stage. For patients already under our care, the consultation provides regular follow-up and adjusts treatment where needed, in line with how things evolve clinically and with test results.

Rhythmology consultation

Dedicated to heart rhythm disorders: palpitations, atrial fibrillation, or treatment follow-up.

Learn more

The rhythmology consultation is a specialist consultation for diagnosing and managing heart rhythm and conduction disorders (palpitations, atrial fibrillation, ectopic beats, conduction disorders…). It includes a detailed history, a clinical examination, a review of any tests already done (ECG, Holter…) and, if needed, prescribing further tests. It establishes a precise diagnosis, assesses the impact of the rhythm disorder and its associated risk (notably the thrombo-embolic risk in atrial fibrillation), and offers the most suitable care: medication, an ablation procedure, or an implantable device depending on the situation. It also provides regular follow-up for patients with a rhythm disorder or an implanted cardiac device (pacemaker, defibrillator).

Pacemaker / defibrillator check

A painless check of your pacemaker or implantable defibrillator, carried out by the rhythmologist. Please bring your device ID card and your implantation letter.

Learn more

Checking a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator is a painless examination, carried out by the rhythmologist, which verifies that the device is working properly along with the state of the battery and the leads. Using a programmer specific to the device's make, the rhythmologist reviews the pacing and sensing parameters, looks for any rhythm disturbances since the last visit, and adjusts the settings if needed. This regular follow-up anticipates replacing the unit before the battery runs down and ensures optimal, personalised care. Please remember to bring your device ID card and your implantation letter to the appointment: they are essential to know the make of the implanted device, the reasons for implantation and its date.

Assessments & symptoms

4 consultations

A targeted consultation built around a symptom or an already-identified diagnosis.

Chest pain assessment

An assessment for chest pain, to identify its cause and rule out a cardiac origin.

Learn more

The chest-pain assessment explores pain felt in the chest to determine its cause and rule out a serious cardiac origin. It includes a detailed history of the pain's characteristics (type, duration, when it occurs, triggers) and a full clinical examination. Depending on the context, it may involve an ECG, an echocardiogram, a stress test, or a coronary CT scan, to look in particular for coronary artery disease. This assessment gives a fast, reassuring answer when the cause is non-cardiac, or directs you without delay to the right care when a cardiovascular cause is found.

Breathlessness (dyspnoea) assessment

To investigate unusual breathlessness, on exertion or at rest, and understand its cause.

Learn more

The breathlessness assessment explores a respiratory discomfort felt on exertion or at rest, to determine its cause and rule out a cardiac origin. It includes a detailed history of the breathlessness (when it occurs, how it has evolved, associated signs) and a full clinical examination. Depending on the context, it may involve an ECG, an echocardiogram, a stress test, or blood work, to look in particular for heart failure, a valve problem or a rhythm disorder that could explain the symptoms. This assessment gives a precise answer on the cause of the breathlessness and, if needed, directs you to the most suitable care.

Heart valve assessment

Follow-up of a known or suspected heart valve condition, with treatment adjusted as needed.

Learn more

The heart-valve assessment evaluates how the heart valves (mitral, aortic, tricuspid, pulmonary) are working when an abnormality is known or suspected, such as a narrowing (stenosis) or a leak (valve regurgitation). It includes a detailed history, a search for any symptoms (breathlessness, fatigue, palpitations) and a full clinical examination, in particular listening to the heart. It usually involves an echocardiogram, the key test to establish the type and severity of the valve disease and assess its impact on how the heart works. This consultation provides regular monitoring of the valve disease, determines the best moment for any intervention (valve repair or replacement), and coordinates care with the surgical or interventional teams if needed.

Heart failure follow-up

Regular support to adjust treatment and monitor known heart failure.

Learn more

The heart-failure consultation assesses and follows how the heart works when it no longer pumps effectively. It includes a detailed history of the symptoms (breathlessness, fatigue, weight gain, swollen legs) and a full clinical examination. It usually involves an echocardiogram, blood work and an ECG, to assess cardiac function and look for its cause. This consultation adjusts medication and optimises doses to improve symptoms and outcome, monitors how the disease evolves, and detects early the signs that may herald a decompensation, so care can be adapted without delay.
